How long does it take to get my ventrilo server?

Your server should be setup instantly after you order. You should get an email containing a link to your control panel along with your server information. Some email providers may put our emails in the spam filter so be sure to check in there if you have not received it after 5-10 minutes.

What location is best for us?

To get the answer to this question you'll need to ask yourself a few questions first:

  1. Where are the majority of your users?
  2. Are they on the East Coast?
  3. Are they on the West Coast?
  4. Are they spread all over America or Europe?
  5. Are they in England or elsewhere in Europe?

Using this information, choose the location that would be closest on average to all of your users.

For example, if you have people spread all across America and Canada we would recommend choosing Chicago as your location.

What payment methods does UGT accept?

We accept most major credit cards as well as Paypal.

Is UGT-Servers a licensed Ventrilo provider?

Yes, we are authorized by Flagship Industries Inc., the developers of the Ventrilo program, to provide Ventrilo hosting. See our licensee page on ventrilo.com.

Are there any discounts for pre-paying for 3, 6 or 12 months?

Yes, we give discounts to those people who decide to prepay. The yearly prepay plans have the heaviest discounts, at up to 30% off regular price.

What voice Codecs do you offer?

You are free to choose any codec compatible with the Ventrilo program. You can use Speex, GSM or any of the other codecs at no extra cost.

Are your servers Mac compatible?

As long as you choose the Speex codec (which you are free to do) in your server configuration your server should be Mac compatible.

What is guild pay / clan deposit?

Guild pay is a system that allows your clan or guild mates to donate towards your next bill at UGT-Servers. Any donations are kept in your guild pay balance - payments are automatically deducted from that balance when your due date rolls around. To enable guild deposit, you must choose pay as you go. If you are not currently on PYG and would like to switch, just fill out a ticket at my.ugt-servers.com and our staff will assist you.

Billing & Accounting

I would like to upgrade, how do I do this?

Ventrilo Clients:

If you are a Ventrilo client of ours, please go to your control panel access at Ventrilo Control Panel and submit a ticket to the "Upgrade/Downgarde" department. In the ticket please include the following:

  • Number of slots you wish to upgrade to
  • The length of the billing cycle you wish to have 1, 3, 6 or 12 months

I noticed your prices have gone up since I joined. Will my price go up on the next bill?

NO. The simple answer to that is we will never raise prices of our current customers. Not even if you wish to upgrade. Your pricing structure will always remain the same. One thing to note though, if you leave us and come back at a later date, we will not honor your old pricing.

What is a Paypal.com Subscription?

Paypal.com is the most simple way to manage your UGT account. The payment will come out of your paypal.com account every month and on the same day of the month that it is due. No pesky invoices to have to pay, no worries of your server going down because an invoice ended up in a spam filter box. All out simple.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Simply put a ticket in via your control panel access. We will be more then happy to assist.

I know my account is due soon, when do I receive an Invoice?

We send invoices out 7 days prior to the due date.

I am on PYG billing. What is my link so I can hand it out to people to help pay?

This link is good to have handy. Log into your Ventrilo Control Panel by clicking here. Once logged in on the left hand side there is a link that says "Make a Payment." Click this link, a new window will appear, this will be the URL you may hand out to members who wish to help make payments.

Note: No payment smaller then $2.00 will be accepted due to paypal.com fees.

I would like to upgrade, how do I do this?

Login to your control panel at my.ugt-servers.com and fill out a support ticket under in the Upgrades department and our staff will assist you in the upgrading process.

Can I test your servers?

Of course you can. To the right side of our main web page, www.ugt-servers.com is a clickable list of server locations. When you place your order, please make sure you are selecting the correct location.

Is support offered with our services?

Of course there is. We have 24/7 server coverage at all our locations as well as ticket/email support. If you have a simple question or need tech support please feel free to ask.

Ventrilo 3.0 Client Questions

How do I setup an Admin User in Ventrilo 3.0?

  1. Connect to your server.
  2. Right click your server name.
  3. Go to server Admin.
  4. Click Login.
  5. Put in your admin password. This password can be found on my.ugt-servers.com configuration page.
  6. Right click your server name.
  7. Go to Server Admin.
  8. Click User Editor.
  9. Click the "New" button on the bottom right.
  10. On the "Info" tab go to the "Login Name" drop down box and choose the user you want for admin.
  11. Enter a password for this user.
  12. At the top of the page, got to "Profiles" and select Generic Admin.
  13. Click the load button to the right.
  14. Click on the "Admin" tab and select the appropriate check marks.
  15. Click the "Add" button at the bottom of the page.
  16. Relog into Ventrilo, with that username/password.

How do I create a User account in Ventrilo 3.0?

  1. Log in to Ventrilo 3.0 as your administrator account.
  2. Right click your name of your server.
  3. Go to Server Admin.
  4. Click User Editor.
  5. Click the "New" button on the bottom right.
  6. On the "Info" tab go to the "Login Name" drop down box and choose the user you want for admin.
  7. Enter a password for this user.
  8. At the top of the page, got to "Profiles" and select Generic User.
  9. Click the load button to the right.
  10. Click the "Add" button at the bottom of the page.
  11. Relog into Ventrilo, with that username/password.

How do I allow duplicate ips in Ventrilo 3.0?

  1. Log in to Ventrilo 3.0 as your administrator account.
  2. Right click your name of your server.
  3. Go to Server Admin.
  4. Click User Editor.
  5. Click the user name or "guest" that are logging in with Duplicate IP issues.
  6. On the right side under the Network Tab, you will see a "Duplicate IP" drop down box.
  7. Set this value to the number of people connecting from the same household.
  8. You should be all set to go after this.

How do I add ranks to Ventrilo 3.0?

  1. Log into Ventrilo 3.0 on an admin user.
  2. Right click the server name.
  3. Go to "Server admin" and select "User Editor."
  4. On the Info Tab click "Rank List"
  5. A new screen will open
  6. Once in there Click "Add"
  7. You will have the following Options, please see example values below:
    • Abbreviation: CM
    • Description: Council Members
    • Level: 90
  8. Click Okay.
  9. You will see this added to the list.

How do I assign a user, a rank in Ventrilo 3.0?

  1. Log into the server as an admin user.
  2. Right click the server name.
  3. Go down to "Server Admin" and select "User Editors."
  4. Select the user from the left you wish to add a rank to. (You must have ranks setup already)
  5. On the "Info" tab on the Right
  6. You should see a drop down list of Ranks.
  7. Select the "Rank" you wish this user to have.
  8. Click "Update" at the bottom.
  9. Close User editor.

Ventrilo Tech Questions

I want to display a status script on our guild webpage. How do I do this?

Log into your Ventrilo control panel by clicking here. Click on the link on the left hand side that says "Status." At the top of the page we have created 2 lines of code to insert into your webpage.

 

Follow these instructions:

  1. Copy all of the code from the "Status" page mentioned above.
  2. Find the spot on your webpage, that you wish to display the server status information.
  3. Paste the copied code into this location.

If you need further help please open a support ticket in your control panel.

Why is my Ping different then other people connecting to the same server?

Simple answer is, everyone's internet and location is different. Ping is defined as how long it takes to get from point 1 (your location) to point 2 (the location your are connecting to) and back to point 1 (your location again). So, your connection to our server is just as important as our connection to you. If your or their ISP is having local issues, your ping will flucuate day to day.

We choose our server locations and data centers based on the network they are attached to. We choose these locations to be the best all around performance locations.
